Mary Did You Know?

Mary did you know that your baby boy would some day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know that your baby boy would give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when your kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God.

Oh Mary did you know---

The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live again.
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb---

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding is the great--I--- AM---.

I think this song is a beautiful reminder that baby Jesus, Who's birth we celebrate this time of year, was not just a ordinary baby, but the Son of God, the great I AM Himself! What a wonderful privilege Mary had to be the mother of the One Who would save the world from their sins. As you celebrate this holiday season, don't forget that Jesus didn't stay a little baby. He is the Savior of the world and He is still alive today, just as powerful as He was back then.

Merry Christmas to you all and have a Happy New Year!

It is a very beautiful song, however I just wanted to say my piece. Mary did know that this child she had was sent to be the Messiah that he would one day rule the world.. she did know this.. look at the bible to see that she knew.. First of all she accepted the gift of Gods son by faith, and if you look at the content clues of what happens at the wedding.. she went to Christ to get the wine made from water... she had faith in her son.. the Son of God. I have yet to see in the bible where she doubted Christ in anything. She had to have known since Elizabeth knew instantly that she child she carried was Christ without her letting anyone else know she was pregnat.

Its a very pretty song.. but its kinda a duh song.

Anyways.. I hope you are doing great and are well.. I haven't seen you since we roomed together at mbbc! May God bless ya.

I know Mary knew she was carrying the Messiah. The reason I like the song is because when people celebrate Christmas, most people focus of the cute little baby in the manger (if they think about Jesus at all instead of Santa and material things)and seem to forget that the whole point of His coming was to grow up to be the Savior of the world. And there are very few Christmas songs that I know of that remind us of that. So my reason for liking the song isn't because Mary didn't know but because it's a reminder for us today. And even though many Christians know the reason for His coming, many unsaved people may not know and I heard this song on a secular radio station.

It's great to hear from you Joy. I am doing great and hope you are too. :)
